What's the difference between graphene and graphite?

1. The thickness of graphite sheet is thicker than that of graphene, which is formed by layers of planar carbon atoms arranged in honeycomb order. When graphite sheet is peeled into a single layer, the single layer with only one carbon atom thickness is graphene.

2. Graphite and graphene are substances composed of carbon atoms. The microscopic structure of graphite is a three-dimensional material consisting of layers of graphite molecules stacked like pages. The single layer of graphite molecule is graphene, because the thickness of the single layer of graphite molecule is less than one nanometer, it can be regarded as two-dimensional material.

3. The common methods of graphene powder production are mechanical peeling, oxidation-reduction, SiC epitaxy, and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
